Streak is over

Today the Brewers punished the Cubs for the walk off win by beating them up 14 - 3. The Cubs picked the wrong year to play good because the Brewers are a lot better. They lost a tough game yesterday but they more than made up for it today.

June is now over and the Cubs were 17 and 11 this month. Hopefully Marquis and the Cubs can get things working tomorrow but I wouldn't count on it. These Brewers got to be observing more than video or something. They have destroyed the Cubs starting pitching and the Cubs batting just haven't reached that sort of plateau to score that many runs in a game.

Yesterday's game look like it was over before it started. The Brewers proved why they are in first place by taking Rich Hill for a ride in the first inning. The only problem for them was that they could not do any more than that as the bull pen wore out the Brewers. The Cubs chopped back at the lead by scoring runs in the fourth and 7th inning. Then the 9th inning came and looked like the Cubs were done for. In steps Aramis Ramirez with a runner on and the Cubs behind 5 - 4. Aram swung at a good pitch and put it in the bleachers to give the Cubs the walk off win.

Wednesday the Cubs beat the Rockies 6 - 4 with a three run home run from Mark DeRosa and gem by Zambrano. Z pitched 6 innings struck out 8, walked 3 and only gave up 2 runs. This game extended the Cubs win streak to  games in a row and was the second sweep in a row.
