Cubs get 7 hits Padres get 4 but the Cubs lose again

5/22/2007 8:15 PM

The Cubs have not been productive in the runs department at all this season. The one thing they have not had to endure is a big blow out. They have stayed in close range of winning games but just have not produced the runs to do so.

The starting pitching has been awesome and probably more than expected. Sean Marshall made his return last night by striking out 8, giving up only 4 hits and 2 runs after 7 innings of work. The bull pen came in and kept things in reach but once again Jacque Jones flies out to end the game with a man left on third.

Lou needs to start evaluating hitters. Jones has been a sore in the Cubs side and he hasn’t been productive. He comes through every once and a while but he hasn’t been as productive as he could be.

It is time to get some productive hitters that come through when runners are on.
