Another come from behind loss

5/1/2007 7:58 PM

This one was kind of expected when Sunday’s game was cancelled. St. Louis proved that they still had feelings of emotion on the tragic events that happened Sunday as they lost their game 7 – 1.

Rich Hill was able to pitch 7 innings, striking out 6, walking one and only giving up two runs. The Cubs did not lose this game in the pitching department. They lost in the batting department 3 - 2.

It is expected that they will have days like this where the runs may just not come in. The problem is that the Cubs have lost too many games because of sleepy bats. Hopefully this ball club will wake up and start hitting the ball for runs and they will start winning these short ended games.

Looking at the standings; it is like a complete reversal of what it normally looks like. The most dangerous part about it is that St. Louis, Houston and Chicago are tied up in last place. April is officially over and this will be the turning point for teams to start picking up the pace. The Pirates and the Brewers are sitting on top right now but looking at these teams it does not look like it will last. It all depends on what the Cubs, Astros and Cardinals want to do in May.
