Lilly and the Cubs come through

4/26/2007 7:32 AM

Ted Lilly kept the Brewers in check by pitching 7 innings, striking out 3 and giving up only 2 runs. Michael Weurtz came in allowed only one more but he showed up his .75 ERA and kept the Brewers in check. Bob Howry also did the same by finishing them off.

The Cubs hit the tar off the ball and scored 9 runs. Lou may have found the key by putting Theriot in at short stop. This will be a regular spot for Theriot because Lou can’t afford to keep him out of the line with the way he is hitting. I just hope that this will bring new life to the Cubs bats as much as it did yesterday. Derrek Lee (who is a mentor for the youngsters) hit his first home run of the year yesterday.

I think Lou may be breaking down the barn door. Providing they can continue this in St. Louis on Friday.
