Rich Hill
pitched 6 innings walked 3 and struck out 5. The mistakes were taken
advantage of as the Brew Crew scored 4 runs on him. Over all this is still
a good performance by Hill. He kept them down to only 4 runs and the Cubs
only needed 5 runs to win. Rocky Cherry and Scott Eyre came in helped out
by not allowing a run and striking out 3 batters. The only
problem was that the Cubs were unable to hit in key situations. Jeff Suppan
only struck out 3 Cubs. The Cubs got 9 hits and 2 walks and only scored one
run. That run was a double by Mark DeRosa that was easily blamed on the
rain. Quotes: "We're
better than this," Piniella said. "It's hard for us to score runs
consistently. Once in a while, we have a good game and we put some nice runs
on the board and you think, 'Here we come.' One of these days, we'll break
the barn door down and get going." Click

article. If there is
ever a more positive thing to say it is what Lou said. I am sure he could
yell and scream and get upset but that will only temporarily fix the
problem. If the team enjoys themselves even while they are losing, than the
chances of this happening again are slim to none. If they play in anger it
may get them to win but the funk will come back again. The important thing
to remember is that April is the month that you would want everything to go
wrong. To have the funk occur in July or August would be much more of a
problem. The Cubs are not getting tore up either. They are working hard and
coming out on the wrong side of the score board. It is only a matter of
time. No adjustments should be made. Let them play and they will prove who
they are on their own. Yankees are
stinking it up too right now. They lost 5 in a row.
Hill is still on top
