What is going on?!?!?

Rich Hill went to the
mound last night and pitched an awesome game. He pitched 8 innings, struck
out 7, walked only 3 and gave up only 4 hits. Rich Hill kept the Braves
guessing and didn't allow them to score. That was a much needed rest given
to the bullpen that keeps blowing games. Aramis Ramirez and Michael Barrett
both hit home runs to give the Cubs 2 of their runs. Mark DeRosa hit a
double in the 8th to get the speedy Ryan Theriot from 1st to home for the
3rd and final run. Dempster came on and saved his 3rd game. The Cubs need
pitching like this from the bull pen as well.
Ted Lilly thought today
that he wished he had signed with the Cardinals. He pitched 7 innings,
struck out 6 and gave up 2 runs before the bull pen took over. Wuertz,
Howry and Cotts came on and kept the Cubs in it by allowing no runs and
only two hits. The Cubs measly run came from the good combination of Lee
and Theriot. Theriot gets on base and Lee brings him in. That wasn't good
enough as the Cubs lose the 10th game 2 - 1.
This game and the last
couple of games have most Cub fans shaking there heads. We got sweet Lou
with a loaded line up and he is putting guys in all kinds of positions like
it is still spring training or something. The bats are not even being used
and when they are used it is usually so the bull pen can come in and blow
the game. When is the season going to begin? I hate to be impatient but
this month so far has proved absolutely nothing. I guess we as Cub fans
should sit back and just say "There is always next year" because
this year is just an expensive experiment. Should we take the "Trusty
in Dusty" and incorporate "Lou Trust" or "Trust in
Lou"? I guess the old fart has it pretty good. He will get every penny
he wants even if the Cubs blow every game. Same with all the ball players.
I have been through many
years of losing but spending a lot of money only to be 6 and 10 sure makes
a person wonder "What is going on?!?!?" Did they sell the team to
that Lady that owned the Cleveland
Indians in the movie Major League. That would at least give some hope that
they could come back.
