April is a wash

Zambrano really didn’t pitch that bad when you look at what he did. He had his normal first inning jitters but for the most part he kept the Cubs in the game. He pitched 6 innings gave up 8 hits, walked 5 and struck out 6. The only thing is he gave up 5 runs. Four of the runs came in the first inning.

In the seventh inning the Cubs were able to get 6 to 5 lead over the Braves but Scott Eyre struggled to hold the lead and gave up three runs. At this point it really isn’t that bad. The Cubs still have a chance to re-gain the lead. The score is only 8 to 6 but the rallying Cubs could not muster any offense.

The Cubs are on a train that seems to have a lot of power, skill and talent. The only thing that is problem now is waiting for it to kick in at the right moments. The pitching is off to a rough start but has made a lot of improvements. The hitting is there but the runs are not coming in like they should be. There is a whole lot of potential and you can see it. I think it may be time to play the waiting game and see if this ball club can turn it around
