Roster Changes

The Cubs have made some
changes to the roster this week. The pitchers you will see on the roster as
of right now will be Carlos Zambrano, Ted Lilly, Jason Marquis,
Rich Hill and Wade Miller, and relievers Ryan Dempster, Scott Eyre, Bob
Howry, Neal Cotts, Will Ohman, Michael Wuertz, Neal Cotts and Angel Guzman.
The batting lineup
will include Alfonso Soriano, Matt Murton, Derrek Lee, Aramis
Ramirez, Jacque Jones, Michael Barrett, Mark DeRosa and Cesar Izturis. Henry
Blanco, Ronny Cedeno, Cliff Floyd, Ryan Theriot and Daryle Ward will be the
bench players or platoon players.
If these are the
final roster changes this would leave out Mark Prior and Kerry Wood. Mark
Prior has already been optioned to Triple A Iowa
and the word is that Kerry Wood will be going on the DL to start the
season. What a surprise!
I will post more on
Kerry Wood and Mark Prior when I find out more. I think they just could not
get the rehab work done in the amount of spring training time they had.
