I have added the
standings board to the right and it will be updated every morning. The nice
thing is you won’t have to go digging for it like on some other sites. I
will also be building my archive below it soon. I am also going to keep
track of the Cubs home and away record so you can see how well they
progressing this season.
Things are starting to
look up for the Cubs during spring training. I always say that the worse
the spring training record the better the season will be. Alfonso hit his 3rd
home run of spring training and Derrek Lee looks to be getting his form
back by batting .513. The starting pitchers are starting to show some
progress and are learning from mistakes. Out of all the pitchers I have
seen pitch the one that worries me the most is Neal Cotts. He has a 7.20
ERA and has given up 2 home runs, 8 earned runs and struck out 6 in 10
innings of work. The ERA is the number that doesn’t fit into the equation
but they are looking for him to be the long reliever. I know Lou wants to
give him a chance but I think I would trust a rookie to step in and do the
job rather than what he is showing right now. I am not sure why the Cubs
traded Aardsma for this guy but maybe they know something we don’t. I know
Aardsma was pretty dependable last year. I just hope that Cotts will come
around soon and prove that he is one of the best.

My plan is to add an
archive and to put the standings on here so all of you can check back
often. I also plan to add some tech links with some free downloads. Why?
Because everyone likes FREE!!
